Welcome to my second UX design project and the first ever project on Adobe XD! I'm so thrilled for you to see my work!
foodOASIS is a website where you can find and view cooking tutorials. The target audience includes young people or people who have an interest in food.
I worked on this design for two weeks, ideating, wireframing, and prototyping included.
This project entails a responsive website. You can access a website through search engines such as Google on your mobile, tablet, or desktop. It is different from a mobile app in the sense that you have to download a mobile app, whereas a website you have to open it each time in your search engines. To get started, I created user personas and user journey maps. Then I tried to identify pain points through the user journey map and designed the basic flow for my website, known as a sitemap. After making a sitemap I created paper wireframes for a desktop first and then the mobile.
After working on my paper wireframes, I felt confident of turning those into digital wireframes. But what was different this time around was I was using a different app! I have a paralyzing fear of new apps. Despite that, I gathered all the courage I could and started on with my digital wireframes. Turns out, I was scared about nothing! Figma and Adobe XD were quite similar. If anything, I actually enjoyed Adobe XD more. So I created my digital wireframes and then connected the dots(quite literally) and created my low-fidelity prototype.

After my low-fidelity prototype, I conducted a moderated usability study in the form of interviews. I had 5 participants complete a few tasks and observed their pain points, and later asked them about their experience using the app. I found out some pain points and corrected those withing my high-fidelity prototype.
After the High-fidelity prototype, I conducted a second usability study in the same format with a different set of 5 people. I identified a few more pain points through the study and modified m website to make it ready for "launch." You can view the final website through the link given below!

I learned that users are used to the formats of the apps they use the most or are most commonly used. Hence, we have to try to keep the basic format similar and shake things up only a little bit. To include some quotes from my study participants:
“This app definitely looks like something I’ll use! It’s easy plus I like my options.”
“Wow okay I can also read an article. I really get bored following video tutorials.”
Thank you for following me through my journey on this project. If you wish to contact me, feel free to email on tiadeol@gmail.com.
